The business was established as a full service commercial real estate firm in partnership with The DESCO Group, a multi-faceted, battle tested firm based in St. Louis Missouri. DSW Commercial (formerly DESCO Southwest) commenced to build alliances with Arizona brokers and its initial projects were very well received. Principal James Hardman joined the company in 2004.
DSW Commercial was able to repeat their development successes in the Arizona Market with projects such as the Skyline Esplanade office complex in Tucson, the unique redevelopment of the Phoenix Union High School in downtown Phoenix as a facility to accommodate the University of Arizona College of Medicine, and the construction of the Stapley Corporate Center in Mesa.
From 2010-2014 DSW pivoted towards the property management and brokerage services when development opportunities were limited. In 2014, Michael Sarabia and James Hardman successfully negotiated a 20,000 square foot build to suit with Morgan Stanley. Prior to the construction being completed they were also successful in selling the STNL asset for a 5.6% cap rate. This build-to-suit proved to be the catalyst for other deals in the area as the real estate market in Southern Arizona was quickly moving towards full correction.
Today DSW Commercial Real Estate continues to pursue its acquisition platform, operating with the optimum balance of experience and ingenuity.
